    • Piano Salon Benton About company The Benton Piano Salon is a family-owned company with a long tradition in the Slovenian market. Following his father, Andrej Benda, who used to make church organs, Joseph Benda, founder at Benton, continues the tradition. The company was established by Ivanka and Jožef Benda in 1990. Recently their son Matic joined the company, who is currently refining his knowledge and learning tuning techniques. We started with a small shop of 30 m² and the workshop in the nearby city, where we could fix the pianos. High quality pianos, competitive prices and quality services have earned us a reputation. In order to provide all in one place we opened large showroom and a modern workshop in April 2001. At one of the largest piano saloons, we have exhibited a diverse collection of different models of world-renowned manufacturers. A diverse selection offers our customers the choice of an instrument that meets their requirements at all levels, from beginners to professional pianists.     • Harpsichord Harpsicord (italian cémbalo) is an instrument with keys. It’s a predecessor of piano from 16th to 18th century period. It has the shape of todays piano, but the strings aren’t hit with hammers as they are being »twitched« by short picks connected to keyboard. It also has inverted colors on keys, the bottom ones are black and top ones are white (just the opposite to piano). Harpsichord was especially popular in Baroque period. The tracks for it were composed by a famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the golden era of harpsichord, which reached from 17-th till 18-th centoury many authoring schools of harpsichord had shaped, among which the more important ones were german and french.   • Service/maintainance
    • Service In the modernly equipped workshop of the Benton company, our piano technicians will make minor repairs as a part of maintenance works, or we can completely renovate or restore your piano, upright piano, harpsichord or harmonium. The renovation procedure begins with examining the piano’s condition, which helps us determine the necessary repairs and present the extent of repairs to the client. When renovating the piano completely, we start with dismantling the entire piano, then we mark the individual parts and remake the ones that are severely damaged. First we repair the resonance bottom and the cast iron frame. The renovation of the piano’s resonance part is concluded with stringing and tuning. After that we work the outer surface of the piano which we lacquer with high gloss or mat lacquer and we perform works on mechanics which usually include replacing of vital parts and regulation. In the end we assemble the piano followed by playing, fine regulation of mechanics, intoning and tuning.
