Restoration of the Bösendorfer Piano

The Bösendorfer piano has arrived in our piano workshop for a complete restoration.
The piano had, among other things, a very cracked soundboard as a result of seasonal expansion and shrinkage of the wood due to changes in humidity and temperature in the room where the piano was located.
Bösendorfer has undergone repair attempts in the past, but we can say with certainty that this was not done by a qualified piano technician. With such an intervention in the instrument, even greater damage was done.

Repairing cracks on a soundboard is a very demanding process – it is not just a cosmetic repair, the instrument needs to be completely disassembled – so it is very important that it is repaired by someone who has the knowledge and the right tools to do so.
The soundboard is the heart of the piano and any defects on this mean sound problems in some cases as well as piano failure. Thus, an instrument with a purchase value of over € 80,000 may lose its full value.
We completely disassembled the piano in our piano workshop, professionally repaired the cracks, provided it new original hammers and strings, and took care of its exterior.

We have installed a Benton piano light for the piano, and a custom-made protective cover for the piano will provide protection when the instrument is not being played.

Don’t miss: What are the right conditions for your instrument and how to provide them with a device that costs only a few €?

Piano on the lake Bled

Delivery of the piano to Island Bled

At the end of June, our team was part of a larger project that took place on Bled Island – Premiere performance of the play The Flood Man.

In more than 30 years, we have had our pianos at many locations in Slovenia, Austria, Croatia and even Serbia; including Postojna cave, Kum, the floating stage in Most na Soči, the floating stage on Lent … on Bled Island we were with the piano for the first time.

We deliver pianos with our specially equipped van, which ensures that the piano does not go out of tune during transport, despite different weather conditions.

We often use a crane for deliveries, we have already delivered by train, a helicopter has already come to our aid – this time we delivered the piano to the destination by raft.

Enrollment in music school

Do you know the benefits of involving children in musical activities from an early age? When is the right time to enroll a child in music school? Which instrument should the child choose? Which music school should a child enroll in? Are you worried about high instrument prices? What if the child does not want to exercise?

There are many questions that arise for parents when deciding to enroll a child in music school, and there are even more benefits that attending music school brings.

Did you know that a child is supposed to perceive the first sounds already between 16 -18. a week in pregnancy? After the 24th week, when the ears develop so much, the baby already responds to sounds from the surroundings. So the baby already recognizes the mother’s voice in the womb and also responds to the music we play. Music calms, stimulates movement and stimulates the heartbeat.

Most of us play music to our children. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, as Jeremy Summerly, a British conductor and lecturer at the Royal Academy of Music, says every father also wants his son to cheer for his favorite football team.

Or maybe with this we can shape a child’s taste for music? Some children will follow the things their parents love, others will do the exact opposite.

The task of parents is not to limit their children to listening to only one type of music, but also to acquaint them with different styles. Children are open to all sounds and listen to music of different styles.

Allow them to listen to folk music and classical music, which will also have a positive effect on the development of children’s brains, e.g. Mozart – The Mozart Effect is a study by scientists in different parts of the world regarding the impact of Mozart’s music on our brains. You can see more about this in a short article on the RTV SLO – IN BRIEF link.

Why enroll a child in music school?

The offer of various activities for children has grown significantly in the last few years. Which activities will help a child the most in development and success in life is an important question that every parent asks. Why would you decide to enroll your child in music school during a flood of courses, sports activities and learning?

In the following lines, we will present the positive effects of playing the instrument and the important role of involving the child in musical activities from an early age in many areas of child development.

Despite the fact that not all professional musicians will continue their music careers after finishing primary music school, music lessons and classical music play a very important role in your child’s overall development.

Below we have summarized just a few of the main benefits of music education:

Development of coordination and motor skills

Playing an instrument requires the movement of the arms or even the arms and legs at the same time. Playing each instrument requires simultaneous different actions with the left and right hand. Improving the coordination of hand, finger and posture movements prepares children for other hobbies such as dancing and sports

Improves academic skills and increases IQ

Music and math are very intertwined. By understanding rhythm and scales, children learn to divide, create fractions, and recognize patterns.

It affects the ability to remember. According to dr. Laurel Trainor, a professor of psychology, neuroscience and behavior at McMaster University, “Young children who take music lessons show different brain development and improved memory in one year, compared to children who do not have a music education.”

Increases IQ. Numerous studies (such as the 2004 study by E. Glenn Schellenberg) have shown that IQ in children increases due to even a few weeks of music. Brain activity increases after music training, some parts of the brain also increase. Unlike many other activities, playing an instrument helps to develop both sides of the brain at the same time.

Improves social skills

When children play in a group, it is important to cooperate and communicate with each other in order to achieve a common goal. In music schools, they often combine different instruments (eg piano accompanies the flute or violin), and many works are also written for several instruments at the same time. Teamwork teaches children patience, tolerance and peer encouragement.

It perfects discipline and patience

Playing an instrument teaches children to persevere through hours, months, and sometimes years of practice before reaching certain goals, such as performing with a band or performing solo. Learning an instrument requires hours of concentration and patience. For example, the violin has a steep learning curve. Before you can hear a single sound, you must first learn how to hold a violin, how to hold a bow, and where to place your feet. Children need to be persistent even if things don’t go well, which is an invaluable skill for all areas of life.

It increases self-confidence

By playing an instrument, children learn to accept criticism and constructively criticize themselves and others they listen to. In particular, group lessons and performances can help children understand that no one, including themselves or their peers, is perfect and that everyone has room for improvement. Performing in public is an important skill, whether you become a professional musician or not, but it helps boost self-confidence.

Reduces stress

Numerous studies show that music reduces stress in both the short and long term. It helps us relax and forget about our problems for a while. Music also helps emotional development, as we can express our emotions through music.

Which musical instrument should the child choose?

Choosing the right instrument is not that simple. The right choice is especially important because the child has to put in a lot of effort and practice before the first songs sound. Therefore, it is advisable to take into account the child’s wishes, as this will also be more motivated.

What if a child may not know which instrument to play? If the child has not yet had the opportunity to learn about individual instruments, hear and see them, the choice will be a little harder. Parents can help a child by listening to how each instrument sounds together, so that the child can tell which sound suits him. For this purpose, some music schools have also prepared video presentations of individual instruments and departments in the music school, which you can watch with your child.

You can also involve your child in a music internship or preschool music education, where he will get to know different families of instruments and individual musical instruments. Music teachers will help you with your choice, as they will recognize if the child is enthusiastic about a musical instrument.

When choosing the right instrument, it is necessary to take into account certain restrictions on individual instruments, as e.g. you know that you need good listening to sing, it is also important for strings, for winds and brass it is important that the child has no respiratory problems, the accordion is among the heavier instruments and is more suitable for physically stronger children…

The choice of instrument is also influenced by whether the child will have the opportunity to practice at home. If you live in a multi-apartment community, your neighbors probably won’t be thrilled with an evening of drumming practice?

Sometimes it also happens that a child chooses a certain instrument simply because it is also played by his sibling or best friend, or because the seats in the desired instrument are already occupied. If the child later wants to play another instrument, the replacement is also possible after consultation with the professors and the management of the music school.

Purchase an instrument

A child attending a music school also urgently needs an instrument at home, as without practice and consolidation at home he will not progress fast enough. Buying a musical instrument is a big expense for parents, especially with musical instruments that the child quickly outgrows. To this end, many music schools have the option of renting an instrument.

A child will not outgrow the piano, but parents have doubts whether the child will persist in music school? That is why, we also offer PIANO RENTAL at the Benton Piano Salon, which you can also buy later, and a certain rental period is also taken into account when you buy. We also deliver the piano to you free of charge.

novi in rabljeni pianini

The purchase and choice of the right instrument is not only influenced by the price, but several factors must be taken into account. We have broken them down in more detail in the blog post BUYING A PIANO

When buying an instrument, the most important thing is that it is high quality! If a child has problems with the instrument, he will also lose interest in practicing. The biggest problem is the purchase of used instruments – for this purpose, Benton offers advice and evaluation of used pianos or  grand pianos (since you probably do not buy a car without prior inspection by a car mechanic). Don’t miss our offer of new and used pianos under the SALES tab.

The child’s teacher of the instrument will also be of great help in purchasing. They often accompany their students with their parents to the music store and try out the instrument for you.

What if the child does not want to exercise?

Parents also have a big role to play in making children’s music school a pleasure by encouraging and providing optimal conditions for rehearsals.

A big leap can happen right on the verge of puberty, when a child who used to happily exercise every day simply doesn’t want to exercise anymore. That is why it is very important that parents are also involved in music school, monitor the child’s progress and communicate with the teacher. This will allow you to identify the problem, guide the child, find solutions together and help him through the obstacle.

When is the right time to enroll a child in music school? Which music school should a child enroll in?

Children from the age of 5 can be enrolled in music school. Due to the positive effects of music on the child, you can also enroll him in various music workshops or music lessons in your vicinity where they offer and usually include children from 3 years of age.

Enrollment in music school and entrance exams take place in late May and early June. Registration forms and exact dates of enrollment and entrance exams can be found on the websites of individual music schools.

Playing an instrument is an activity that requires a lot of time and energy. By attending music school, a child will gain many virtues in addition to knowledge of the instrument, which will be a great guide for him during school and later in life.

Fazioli F278 piano review

The first Fazioli at the Piano Salon Benton is the F278 model. The piano was manufactured in 1996. Recently, one of our long-time clients gave an opinion that certainly describes it the most.

“This piano is like a fine wine. The older, the better! ”

The piano was chosen in Fazioli Pianoforti, located in the town of Sacile, in the province of Pordenone (60km northeast of Venice). When choosing the piano in Fazioli, we were accompanied by pianist Aci Bertoncelj, whose opinion was very important to us, as he was our greatest constructive critic, who helped us a lot in achieving perfect tones. He also had a very big impact on the development of our company, and he was also our good friend!

Concerts

Fazioli pianos are also available for renting for concerts and events all over Slovenia, and occasionally also to Croatia and Austria. Over 300 concerts have been performed on our Fazioli F278 in the 25-year history of the piano. A large number of Slovenian and internationally renowned pianists performed on it such as Dubravka Tomšič Srebotnjak, Tatjana Ognjanović, Aci Bertoncelj, Hinko Haas, Tomaž Petrač, Luciene Lončina, Natalija Saver, Uroš Perić, Gašper Konec, Milko Lazar, Herbie Hancock, Aldo Ciccolini, Ivo Pogorelic, Maksim Mrvica, Oliver Dragojevic etc..

The most remote location where it was rented for concerts was Cavtat in Croatia (20km south of Dubrovnik) and Belgrade, Serbia.

One of the most unusual locations is definitely the floating stage in Most na Soči, where firefighters also helped us to lower the piano to the floating stage.

Recording

The Fazioli F278 is also great for recording music records where the piano is in the lead role or as a backing instrument.

The piano is distinguished by an extremely beautiful and unique sound and excellent responsiveness of the keyboard and action. Pianists who recorded on this piano said that they really feel comfortable behind this piano and even long hours of recording, to record the best record, are not a problem.

The first to record his record on it was Luiz de Moura Castro. The first to record his record at the Piano Salon Benton and one of the first to record his record on our first Fazioli piano was also Aci Bertoncelj, who wrote after the recording:

Aci Bertoncelj pianist

»Without an interpreter, music remains a dead art, nothing but black dots on white paper. Some of us interpreters have received the privilege of trying to magically convert the composer ‘s thoughts into a mysterious world of sound, full of wonders.

However, we depend on the instrument under our hands, like a rider depends on his horse. If the animal is an Arab thoroughbred, it will respond to the slightest cue, received from his rider and show up in the full palette of its character, from uncontrollable fieriness and ardour, to delicacy and a heart-stirring attachment to its master.

The sonorous ideal exists only in the head of the interpreter; but if the instrument gives more and sounds even more beautiful than the music in the interpreter’s imagination, it must be the king of all grand pianos – a FAZIOLI.«

Also recorded on Fazioli F278: Uroš Perić, Dominik Bagola – Balladero, Jan Plestenjak, Miran Juvan, Blaž Pucihar, Adriana Magdovska and many others.

First choice

If we ask pianists, what is your favorite brand of piano? Usually the answer was Steinway, but today Steinway is no longer the only one at the top.

Fazioli is relatively new to the world of pianos, but in less than 40 years of production it has become the first choice of the great artists of our time. Among them are Herbie Hancock, Louis Lortie and Angela Hewitt.

These remarkable pianos are handcrafted in Sacile, in northeastern Italy, a region known for its ancient and prestigious tradition in woodworking. The resonant bottom of the Fazioli pianos is made of wood from the Val de Fiemme valley, a valley in the eastern Italian Alps. Antonio Stradivari used the same wood to make his violins.

The secret of the quality of Fazioli pianos is that no piano leaves production until it is perfect and this is confirmed by Paolo Fazioli himself, the founder and director of Fazioli. Perfect, completely finished and ready for the concert stage.

Paolo Fazioli had a dream. Dreaming of building the best piano in the world. We can definitely say that he succeeded in this and his desire to build the best piano in the world means to improve his own creation. Paolo continues to explore, testing new ideas and new concepts. Together with his son Luca Fazioli, the pursuit of perfection will never stop at this piano factory.

Experience the perfection of Fazioli and see how the Fazioli piano deserves the reputation of impeccable quality by visiting our showroom, where you can try out our 3 models of Fazioli pianos – model F278, F228 and F212.

Interesting facts about Piano

Did you know that there is a day dedicated to the piano? Piano Day is celebrated on the 88th day of the year, and the reason for this day is because the piano keyboard has 88 keys.

Piano Day began with the idea of German pianist, composer and producer Nils Frahm in 2015. When Frahm was asked why the world needs a piano day, he replied: “… mostly because it doesn’t hurt to celebrate the piano and everything around it: performers , composers, piano makers, tuners, movers and, most importantly, listeners. ”

Today is therefore dedicated to the history and love of pianos and marked by events that celebrate the piano. You can read more about piano day events on the official pianoday.org website

On this occasion, we have gathered for you some of the most interesting facts about pianos:

  • The first piano was invented in 1709 by the Italian harpsichord maker Bartolomeo di Francesco Cristofori. One of Cristofori’s original pianos still exists at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
  • The word piano is an abbreviated version of the word pianoforte, which means soft (piano) and loud (forte).
  • The piano keyboard has 88 keys. The number of strings depends on the piano model – usually around 230. Nevertheless, according to the way of playing, the piano is classified as an instrument with keys, as the sound is the result of pressing / hitting a key.
  • The piano is an incredibly complex instrument. It is built of more than 12,000 parts, of which 10,000 are moving.
  • Each piano string holds about 70-80 kilograms of tension, so the total tension of the strings is between 15-20 tons. What to do when the string breaks? You can read the answer HERE.
  • The piano has the widest range of tones of all instruments. The piano plays a note lower than the lowest note on the double bass and higher than the upper note of the piccolo.
  • The exact center of the piano keyboard is not C1 but the space between E and F above C1.
  • Until the 1950s, piano keys were made of elephant tusks, today most piano keys are made of plastic to protect and preserve elephants.
  • The largest piano ever made measures 2,449m in width, 6,07m in length and 1,925m in height. it was built by Daniel Czapiewski (Poland) and played at a concert in Szymbark, Poland, on December 30, 2010.
  • Polish musician Romuald Koperski holds the record for the longest piano concerto to date: 103 hours and 8 seconds.
  • Portuguese musician Domingos-Antonio Gomes has proven to have the fastest fingers in the business. He broke the record after playing an incredible 824 times in one minute on the B7 button on a Yamaha CFX – that’s more than 13 hits per second!
  • The most expensive piano in the world was sold for as much as 3.22 million dollars. It is made of real crystal. It was designed by Heintzman & Co. It was only played in public once at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and then sold at auction. Our Plexiglas Schimmel is one of the jewels of our collection, otherwise it is not made of crystal, but of plexiglass. With its own lighting and superior sound, it enriches many concerts or events.

Piano for Music School

Piano for Music School

At the beginning of the school year / When a child enters music school, parents are confused about What kind of piano to buy for a child for music school?

It is really not necessary to buy the most expensive piano for a beginner, but it is important that it is of good quality, because if a child has problems with the instrument from the beginning, this will deter him from playing the piano and practicing.

Piano, Upright Piano, Electric Piano or Hybrid?

For elementary music school, parents mostly decide to buy (or rent) an UPRIGHT or an ELECTRIC PIANO – here we must note that the professors of piano do not recommend electric pianos for beginners, because despite the extremely advanced technologies, key weights and real piano sound reproduction, the feeling and sound are still not the same as the acoustic piano, so before buying it, we advise you to consult with the chosen professor or. piano teacher.

With a large offer on the market, the question still arises, what to choose? How to choose the right piano when you are not playing the piano yourself?

There are several factors that influence the choice of the right instrument.
– Acoustic, digital or a mixture of both – a hybrid?
– Which brand to choose?
– Where can we put it?
– Size?
– Color?
– New or used?
– What about the price? Buy or rent?

Pianino, klavir, električni klavir ali hibrid?

To help you answer the above questions, we invite you to read our post at the link HERE.

When buying a piano for a beginner, it is really difficult to choose which piano is right for you, because a child does not yet know how to play the piano while in the early stages of learning, so we recommend that you bring a piano teacher or someone who knows how to play well so that you can hear what sounds better for you. In our experience, professors are very happy to respond to invitations from parents or they advise you. The advice of experts who follow changes in the piano market, how pianos are designed and manufactured and what they cost is also very important – with more than 30 years of experience in the piano industry, Ivanka and Jože Benda, directors of Benton Piano Salon are always happy to advise you.

There are several options for providing your child with a quality instrument that he can practice at home whenever he wants:

PIANO RENTAL – For beginners, one of the best options is to rent a piano (new). This way you will have a new piano at home without spending the family budget. Renting a piano also gives you the opportunity to find out if the piano is the right instrument for your child. You can buy the piano after the expiration of the lease (where the rent is taken into account for 9 months) or extend the lease. However, if it turns out that the child’s desire to play the piano has passed, you return it.

You can read more about renting a piano HERE.

PURCHASING A PIANO – Buying a new piano is not really cheap, but it is definitely an investment that will last in your family for decades. Based on long-term business partnerships, Benton d.o.o. we guarantee the lowest prices of upright and grand pianos in Slovenia. Our suppliers are our long-standing business partners. We are proud to be the exclusive sales representative for Slovenia for the brands: Fazioli, Kawai, Petrof, Bosendorfer and Schimmel and a long-term partner of the Yamaha brand.

You can see more about our offer of pianos HERE.

PURCHASE OF AN ELECTRIC PIANO – the purchase of an electric piano is more affordable than the purchase of a piano, it also does not require regular services. However, compared to the classical piano, they lose value faster, as their lifespan is much shorter and the models change quickly due to the constant development of technology. So if you are thinking about buying an electric piano for a beginner, we definitely recommend that you take the one that is the best approximation to a classical piano – has weighted keys, with dynamics and 88 keys.

You can see our offer of electric pianos HERE.

BUYING A USED PIANO – The prices of used upright pianos and grand pianos are sometimes very tempting, especially for those who do not have a high budget. However, you need to be very careful when buying any used instrument, as a cheap purchase can cost us quite dearly. In addition to relocation and service costs, the materials may already be worn out so that the tuning will no longer hold (the piano must hold the tuning for about a year under appropriate conditions and normal use). Before purchasing, we advise you to inspect the instrument by an independent piano technician. Read more about what to look for when buying used instruments HERE.

Warbinek pianino

Restoration of an Upright Piano

We present you another of the wonderful renovations of this year from the hands of our masters.

Restoration of this piano required quite a few innovative approaches, as the piano was in really poor condition. Guess what’s hiding inside?

The story

The client contacted us with a desire to restore the Upright Piano Rudolf A. Warbinek. The piano is over 100 years old. It was made in Slovenia, more precisely in the piano factory Rudolf a. Warbinek.

The workshop was known as the “first piano factory in Carniola” (“Erste Krainishe Pianoforte – Fabrik”). Source: Musical instrument makers in Slovenia 1606-1918, Musicological Proceedings, Darja Kater

Inspection

Prior to each refurbishment, a detailed inspection of the instrument and an inventory of works shall be carried out in order to present to the customer the estimated cost of the refurbishment. When inspecting this instrument, it was found that behind the extremely beautiful details on the exterior of the piano there was significant damage inside of the piano, so it was estimated that it is not possible to restore the functionality of this piano.

However, the piano has been family-owned by our client for many years, it is passed down from generation to generation, so it has considerable emotional value. Therefore, we had to find a solution

Renewal

After careful consideration, we came up with a solution for the client. The plan was to incorporate the beautiful details of the Warbinek piano into a completely new piano, which is as close as possible to the dimensions of the Warbinek piano. The customer chose the new Kawai K-500 piano, which we upgraded with beautiful details of the family gem.

The whole cabinet of the old piano was disassembled, inventoried and some parts re-made. This was followed by the restoration of the candlesticks, engraving milling and varnishing. The calm hand of the young artist also came to our aid in applying the gold color in the engraving.

Once the individual parts were completed, we have to assemble it, it also neded some mechanical adjustment, and final tuning followed.

How to buy a Used Piano

There is always some risk when buying any used product. Without a thorough examination by a trained technician, it is impossible to know whether the piano is properly maintained, whether it is damaged or not, how the piano is worn, or whether the piano needs major repair. Therefore, we recommend that you consult with a piano technician or tuner before purchasing a used piano or grand piano.

Before buying a used piano, ask about its background. Ask the seller about the make, model, year of purchase / manufacture and, if possible, the piano serial number. You can use the data to determine the value of the piano before viewing it.

Check the age of instrument on Piano Atlas or Bluebook Of Pianos

How often was the piano tuned?
The piano must be tuned at least once a year; anything less could mean that you will soon pay extra for special settings or other related maintenance.

Who performed the maintenance on the piano?
Has the piano been serviced by a qualified professional? If the instrument was not serviced by a trained professional, the repairer may have made some mistakes that could lead to an avalanche of internal damage. Tuning and repairs must always be performed by a piano technician.

Where was the piano / piano stored?
Beware if it was stored in the basement (especially in flood-prone areas), garage or public warehouses. There is often no climate control in these areas, and temperature extremes and humidity fluctuations seriously threaten the condition of the piano, leading to irreparable damage – such as crack on a resonance board.

Who were the previous owners?
If possible (and useful), find out how many previous owners had the piano and how well they cared for it. Get to know your potential investment as much as possible and look for signs of damage when inspecting a used instrument (resonance board, if there are no moths or other parasites in the instrument, rusty strings, worn hammers, rattling of keys and mechanics…)

Additional costs to consider when buying:
– tuning the instrument
– Moving the piano / piano from the seller to your home
– Possible other repairs (regulation of mechanics, cleaning, sanding hammers, replacement of strings…)

!FACTORY RENOVATED UPRIGHT PIANOS AND GRAND PIANINS!

These instruments have not been restored at Yamahe or Kawai factories. Thousands of these upright pianos and grand pianos have been shipped to distributors in the US and across Europe. Below you can read an article by Yamaha technician Bill Brandon, which was published in the Pianos Technicians Guild.

These pianos are of a lower standard than those sold in the US and EU, even though the model numbers are the same or similar. Many of these pianos are “worn out” school pianos that have been partially refurbished and have a “new look”. We need to emphasize the fact that these pianos / pianos have been placed in a very humid Japan (monsoon) climate for 30-40 years, so they often have great moisture problems.

The piano / piano is factory restored and the seller gives me a warranty!
Yamaha and Kawai spare parts and factory services are simply not available for these pianos. Yamaha Corporation does not endorse or recommend these upright pianos and grand pianos, as there are problems that will eventually turn out to be too great.

Beware of the “guarantees” promised by the stores as they are not backed by Yamahe and Kawai. The factory where the instruments are factory restored do not replace the worn parts with the original ones.

If the piano is much cheaper than it should be, this instrument is the so-called “Gray Market” piano / piano. If it is a two-pedal piano or a “non-operational” 3rd pedal – it is a “Gray Market” piano.

The authorized dealer for the sale of new Japanese classical pianos and pianos of the Yamaha and Kawai brands in Slovenia is Benton d.o.o. and we have been selling these for almost 30 years.

Yamaha and Kawai Upright Pianos and Grand Pianos are great investments, even if purchased on the secondary market – second-hand, but be sure to check the age and source of the instrument before purchasing, and we recommend that you ask a piano technician to check it for you.

The piano usually has about 220-230 strings made of tempered high-carbon steel, the bass strings have a steel wire braided with copper.

Each string holds about 70-80 kilograms of tension, so the total tension of most classical pianos is between 15-20 tons.

The new piano string stretches and is extremely elastic. If you provide regular maintenance to your piano and do not expose it to extreme conditions, you will most likely not have these problems.

There is no such flexibility in older pianos or in pianos exposed to poor conditions and extreme pressure. Therefore, the piano string may crack.

What to do when a piano string breaks?

Broken piano strings cannot be repaired. Do not remove the piano string yourself and it is very important that you do not throw it away!

Piano strings come in a variety of sizes and thicknesses on each brand and model of piano.

If the piano string breaks, call a piano technician. The piano technician will remove, measure the damaged string and replace it, and only in this way he can make a new string and provide the appropriate sound.

We also recommend tuning after replacing the piano string.

Have you had several piano strings broken in a short period of time?

If several piano strings have broken in a short time or if the piano does not stick to the tuning, this may be a sign of a bigger problem. If the strings crack even under minor pressure, or do not even withstand tuning, in this case the piano should be inspected in detail.
